1.0 OBJECTIVE :

• To describe a procedure for allocating code number to Instruments / Equipments / Utilities in order to achieve an easy traceability, for qualification, operation, maintenance and retirement.

2.0 SCOPE :

• This procedure is applicable to all Instruments / Equipments / Utility installed in various departments, i.e., Quality control, Production, Warehouse Engineering and Formulation and Development Departments

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY :

• Q.A. Officer and above

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:

• Quality Assurance Head

5.0 PROCEDURE :

5.1 Department Code: Following are the department codes,

5.2 Section Code : Following are the section codes,

5.3 Numbering of Instrument for Quality Control Department

• Give code number to all instrument as below;
• QCD/M/00
• Where,
• QCD stands for quality control department, M stands for Machine, 00 stands for serial number of instrument.                          

5.4 Numbering of Instrument for microbiology section

• Give code number to all instrument as below;
• MIC/M/00
• Where,
• MIC stands for Microbiology, M stands for Machine, 00 stands for serial number of instrument.                          

5.5 Numbering of Equipment for Production Department

• Tablet Section ;
  • Give code number to all equipment as below;
  • TAB/M/00
  • Where,
  • TAB stands for Tablet, M stands for Machine, 00 stands for serial number of equipment.     
• Capsule Section ;
  • Give code number to all equipment as below;
  • CAP/M/00
  • Where,
  • CAP stands for Capsule, M stands for Machine, 00 stands for serial number of equipment.                          
• Numbering of  Equipment for Packing Section
  • Give code number to all equipment as below;
  • TAB/M/00
  • Where,
  • TAB stands for Tablet, M stands for Machine, 00 stands for serial number of equipment.                       

5.6 Numbering of Equipment for Warehouse Department

• Give code number to all equipment as below;
• WHD/M/00
• Where,
• WHD stands for warehouse department, M stands for Machine, 00 stands for serial number of equipment.                          

5.7 Numbering of Utilities for Engineering Department 

• Give code number to all utilities as below;
• UTL/M/00
• Where,
• UTL stands for Utilities, M stands for Machine, 00stands for serial number of equipment.                       

5.8 Numbering of Formulation and Development Department

• Give code number to all equipment as below;
• FDD/M/00
• Where,
• FDD stands for Formulation and Development Department, M stands for Machine, 00stands for serial number of equipment.                     

5.9 Intimate assigned code to user and engineering department for indicating over respective machine.
