1.0 OBJECTIVE :
- To provide a written procedure for Cleaning In Microbiology Section.
2.0 SCOPE :
- This procedure is applicable for maintaining cleanliness of Microbiology area.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY :
- Microbiologist
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Head of Department
5.0 PROCEDURE :
- De-dust the floor by using Nylon broom.
- Prepare fresh disinfectant solution as per the dilution given below, sufficient for a day.
- Wipe the floor with duster soaked in the disinfectant solution and throw the used solution in the drain outside the Microbiology Section and clean the duster after use.
- Clean the instruments using dry duster.
- Clean the walls, doors, tube light covers (to be cleaned by engineering department) with clean dry duster or vacuum cleaner and with disinfectant using cotton cloth.
- Clean the ceilings, wall corner, furniture, and return riser and suppling grills by using dry duster or vacuum Cleaner and with disinfectant using cotton cloth.
- Disinfect by using following disinfectants.

2. Savlon | 2 .5 |
Note – Disinfectants are to be rotated weekly |
- Frequency of Cleaning:
- Twice in a day (Between 9.30 AM to 10.00 AM, Between 1.30 PM to 2.00 PM)
