Operation of Reverse Laminar Air Flow Unit SOP

1.0 OBJECTIVE :
  • To define procedure for operation of Reverse Laminar Air Flow (RLAF) unit while Sampling the Raw Material.
2.0 SCOPE :
  • This procedure is applicable to M/s. Cleanair System and Devices make Reverse Laminar Air Flow (RLAF), Instrument.
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY :
  • Quality control Chemist and above
4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • Quality Control Head
5.0 PROCEDURE :

5.1 PRECAUTION:

  • Always keep the pre-filter clean.
  • Clean the area and wall under RLAF with swab of 70% Iso Propyl Alcohol solution.
  • If pressure is less than 07 mm WG re-clean pre-filter and if more than 14 mm of WG replace HEPA filter.
  • Always keep the balances and opened container under safe working zone of RLAF.
  • Validate the RLAF once in year by the approved third party.

5.2 OPERATION

  • Switch “ON” the main power supply.
  • Switch on the ‘Air flow’ and ‘Light’ switch of RLAF 15 minutes before actual weighing to avoid the contamination.
  • Note the RLAF- Pressure Monitoring Record from manometer in format (Limit: 07 to 14 mm of WG).
  • Record the reading in RLAF pressure monitoring record.
  • Now the area is ready for sampling.
  • Switch ON the Balance and carry out necessary work.
  • Confirm that manometer reading is within Limit.
  • In case of power failure wait for 5 minutes before restarting actual weighing operation.
  • After completion of work, switch OFF the ‘Air flow’ switch, ‘Light’ switch, and main switch.
